Case Study

EventFlickz was born out of the struggle to find a fun activity to do within the week. EventFlickz has a news feed that shows you upcoming activities in your area that you can attend that starts 4 hours to 7 days from your current time.

It has a discovery feature similar to the popular Tinder hence the name ‘Event’ – ‘Flickz’. By flicking right on an event, you would ‘love the event’ and it would go into your loved queue to be reviewed at a later time.

By flicking left on an event, you would dislike the event and would reduce the number of events you see that are similar.

It has the ability to place upcoming events on iOS, Outlook, and Google Calendars. It is integrated into Eventbrite, Goldstar, and numerous other event sites. It will automatically buy you tickets if you choose to add a payment method. The best perk of the application is it organizes all your event tickets within one place.

This application was created using the JavaScript framework, React Native, with an AWS backend. It used services such as AWS Lambda, S3, EC2 and CloudFront as well as many more to create a high availability, low latency and secure application.

This application started at an idea, went into market research and finally ended with design and development. This application can be found in the Apple Store.
